We are happy to report that the District was able to provide a sewer lateral grant to Carlsbad resident, Anne-Marie Wish. She had a recent lateral rehabilitation project and our grant program offset some construction costs.
She experienced a blockage in her private sewer lateral from an offset joint and root intrusion near the connection to the public sewer system. Fortunately, Ms. Wish did not have a sewer backup in her house and was able to contact a plumbing company to remediate the issue by digging down to the offset joint and making a repair.
The District was able to approve a sewer lateral grant of $3,000 to assist with the repair. Although the repair was costly, Ms. Wish felt very fortunate there was financial assistance available and that the repair was made quickly.
