NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on June 9, 2021 at 5:00 p.m., the Board of Directors of the Leucadia Wastewater District (District), located at 1960 La Costa Ave., Carlsbad, CA, will hold a public hearing via Zoom teleconference pursuant to the San Diego County Public Health Order to consider:
A proposal to continue collecting the wastewater service charges of the District on the County Tax Roll in the same manner, together with, and at the same time as general taxes. There is on file with the District a written report showing the amount of the wastewater service charges proposed for the Fiscal Year 2022 for each parcel of real property receiving wastewater service. A copy of the report is available for inspection at the District office. Written inquiries shall be addressed to Leucadia Wastewater District, 1960 La Costa Ave., Carlsbad, CA 92009.
The Zoom teleconference information will be posted on the District’s website www.lwwd.org
72 hours prior to June 9, 2021. If the restrictions are lifted, then the meeting will be held live in the Boardroom located at 1960 La Costa Avenue, Carlsbad, CA 92009.
If, by the close of the public hearing, written protests against the rate increase are not presented by a majority of property owners, the Board of Directors will be authorized to adopt an ordinance to increase the sewer rate charge. (Note: if the meeting is held via Zoom teleconference, written protests via e-mail will be accepted up to the close of the public hearing.)
The Board of Directors will consider all objections or protests to the report. If the Board of Directors finds that protests are made by the owners of a majority of separate parcels of property described in the report, then the report shall not be adopted and the wastewater service charges shall be collected separately from the tax rolls.
