COVID-19 Preparedness

March 18, 2020

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) impact continues to evolve, we remain focused on the health and safety of our employees and the public, as well as our commitment to protecting the environment. Below are several important updates about what Leucadia Wastewater District (LWD) is doing to care for our employees and customers during this time.

LWD is working hard to ensure our team members are protected. LWD staff has been instructed on and are practicing appropriate social distancing, disinfection procedures, and as needed self-isolation in accordance with the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the California Department of Public Health guidelines.

Beginning today, LWD is limiting access to the District office at 1960 La Costa Ave. Carlsbad, Ca 92009. We will not allow members of the public into our lobby area. As such, we request your cooperation to please call in advance of coming into the office. We may be able to complete various duties electronically rather in person, thus limiting person to person contact. If electronic assistance isn’t feasible, please make an appointment to come in.

LWD staff will be going to an alternate work schedule, where half of the staff will be in the office one day, the other half the next day. We do not expect this to impact our service to our customers.

We encourage you to visit our website for updates. You may also visit to check if you’re in the LWD service area, access board agendas & minutes, employment opportunities and other essential information. In addition, please visit and/or like the LWD Facebook page for updates and information on the developing situation as well as other wastewater topics. You may also email our Info inbox at:

We will continue to monitor the situation and update as necessary.

We hope everyone stays healthy and safe as we work through this crisis.
