NOTICE INVITING BIDS

 

LEUCADIA WASTEWATER DISTRICT

BATIQUITOS (B3) FORCE MAIN DISCHARGE

SECTION REPLACEMENT PROJECT

 

The Leucadia Wastewater District (Owner) is requesting bids from qualified contractors for the Owner’s Batiquitos (B3) Force Main Discharge Section Replacement Project (Project) which includes all work, materials, labor, tools, services, and equipment necessary for the installation of approximately 720 linear feet of 24-inch polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sewer force main and rehabilitation of three manholes at the discharge end of the project.  Project includes all saw cutting, dewatering, potholing of existing utilities, Water Pollution Control Drawings creation and implementation, abandonment and/or removal of existing 24-inch ductile iron pipe, removal and replacement of roadway surfaces, including saw cutting and removal of concrete roadway surfaces up to two feet thick, trenching, shoring, dewatering, pipe, bedding, compaction, backfill, off-site disposal of all construction waste pursuant to applicable law, performing all connections between new pipelines and the existing system; completing all trench resurfacing and site restoration; removing the existing sewer facilities as shown on the plans; installing corrosion protection; obtaining all required permits; and completing all traffic control and other work as necessary to comply with all regulatory, jurisdictional, and permitting requirements and to restore disturbed areas and surface improvements back to original conditions; and all miscellaneous work as shown, specified and directed for a complete operating installation.

Sealed Bids will be received by the Owner at the Leucadia Wastewater District, 1960 La Costa Avenue, Carlsbad, California 92009 until 2:00 p.m. (local) on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

Bids shall be executed on the forms bound in this packet's prepared material and contract documents and in accordance with the instructions contained therein.  Bid security, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid dollar amount, is required to be submitted with each bid. The bidder to whom the award is made will be required to furnish a payment bond and a faithful performance bond.

A pre-bid meeting and walk-through of the proposed work site is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. (local) time Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the Leucadia Wastewater District, 1960 La Costa Avenue, Carlsbad.  The job walk will be conducted jointly by the Owner and Engineer.

NOTICE  INVITING  BIDS

 

            SEALED BIDS will be received at the Leucadia Wastewater District (District), 1960 La Costa Avenue, Carlsbad, California 92009 until 2:00 PM, local time on Wednesday, May 15th, 2019, at which time they will be publicly opened and read to furnish and deliver Ferrous Chloride, as specified in the bid documents, to the District to chemically enhance the reduction of Hydrogen Sulfides in the force mains at the Leucadia Pump Station.

            A copy of the Agreement, specifications and bid documents may be obtained from the District by calling (760) 753-0155 and requesting a Ferrous Chloride bid packet.

            All qualified bidders will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex or national origin.  The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality, irregularity, and nonconformity in the bids received, and to make awards in the best interest of the District.
