We are officially one week away from celebrating #FlushSmartDay!
This second annual celebration provides an excellent reminder about the importance of practicing responsible flushing habits. The “Do Not Flush” symbol is an incredibly easy way to identify non-flushable wipes that don’t belong in the toilet.
If flushed, these wipes can clog pipes in our homes and communities. Over time, these wipes can combine with fats, oils, and grease (FOG) to create cement-like fatbergs in our sewers. Removal of fatbergs costs utilities thousands if not millions of dollars and poses likely utility rate increases for families.
#FlushSmartDay is an opportunity to remind ourselves about the importance of heeding the “Do Not Flush” symbol.
