🎉 Congratulations to our Field Service Technician in Training, Angel Hinojosa, on earning two technical certificates! 🎉
Angel has achieved his Water Treatment Operator Grade T1 certification from the California State Water Resources Control Board and his Collection System Maintenance Grade 1 certification from the California Water Environment Association.
These accomplishments showcase Angel’s dedication to his education and his commitment to being a leader in environmental protection. We’re proud to have him on our team!
The District recently conducted smoke testing in the Leucadia neighborhoods to identify and eliminate illegal connections to the sewer system, helping to prevent stormwater from overwhelming our infrastructure. As a result, we assisted dozens of local homeowners in securing their lateral caps, redirecting downspouts correctly, and addressing any questions they had.
By working together, we can keep our infrastructure running smoothly and protect our environment.
Thank you for your efforts in making this possible!
💧 Important Reminder for Pool Owners 💧
If you’re planning to empty your pool water into your sewer lateral, please remember to call the District at 760.753.0155 or email info@lwwd.org to get specific flow rates, times of operation, and to discuss costs.
If you plan to discharge into a storm drain or gutter, be sure to contact your city—either Encinitas or Carlsbad—for approval first.
Keeping our systems in check ensures a safe and efficient process for everyone. Thank you!
🚧 **Safety Reminder** 🚧
Hey Encinitas/Carlsbad drivers! 🚗 When you see our Field Service Technicians working hard on the streets, please remember to **slow down** and drive carefully. Your caution helps keep everyone safe—both our team and your fellow drivers.
Let’s work together to ensure everyone gets home safely. Thanks for your cooperation! 🙌

Replacing Critical Infrastructure Before It Fails
Rancho Verde Pump Station Rehabilitation Project
This pump station was constructed 28 years ago and the project includes a complete overhaul of mechanical, electrical, drainage and site layout.
The project also includes vehicle access improvements to the site. This upgrade will ensure the pump station continues to maintain peak performance and avoid sewer spills.
The construction is expected to begin between Spring 2025 and Summer 2025.
